Introduction

This blog will be  a way to bring the World War 2 years of 1943-1945 to life! It will preserve and share precious letters between my Great Aunt, Florence Allen and her husband, my Great Uncle, Raymond Allen.

The letters, pictures and memorabilia will provide a window through which we can glimpse what the world was like before the world wide web, cell phones and all our current technology.  We can feel the love they shared and the importance of the sacrifice they were making for our country.  We see many ways that life has pretty much stayed the same but also some vast differences when compared to our world today.

I hope we can all take something from this "simpler" time to make our lives more meaningful today.
